North American Edition:

4th Energy Transition and Emission Reduction
for the Metals and Mining

21 – 22 September | Toronto, CANADA

Venue: Sandman Signature Toronto Airport Hotel

The 4th Energy Transition and Emission Reduction for the Metals and Mining Industry forum is set to take place on the 21-22 September in Toronto, Canada.

This two-day event will provide valuable insights into the latest trends and innovations in sustainable mining, green steel practices as well as strategies for reducing emissions and transitioning to renewable energy sources.

In light of ambitious emissions targets the decarbonisation of the mining and metal industry is becoming increasingly critical in addressing climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The industry has significant challenges to overcome in order to achieve net-zero emissions, but it is possible with a concerted effort and the implementation of appropriate strategies and technologies. When keeping up with high demand mining companies and steel producers are being responsible for a significant portion of global carbon emissions due to its energy-intensive processes and reliance on fossil fuels.

The forum will bring together experts, industry leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainability in the sector. We will focus on exploring various strategies and technologies for decarbonising mining and metal production processes, as well as the economic and social implications of these efforts.

Join the discussions on the ways how the industry can significantly reduce its carbon footprint with the adoption of game-changing technologies and practices, reading into technical considerations, and finance models that can support the industry on its way to reaching Net Zero goals.

At Aggreko we power progress – delivering engineered power & HVAC industrial solutions across the globe so businesses can grow, and communities can thrive. Aggreko’s extensive reach and capability can support you with everything you need – whether that’s temporary power, a customized power solution, temperature control for process enhancement, or a backup power supply to keep you operational. We offer tailor-made solutions to serve different sectors, from small industrial power needs to complex multi-megawatt power solutions, including plug-and-play battery energy storage. Also, our HVAC solutions are engineered to solve process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, failing or underperforming equipment, and, above all, the high ambient temperatures that cause production to plummet.

GREEN STEEL PARTNER

Industeel, subsidiary of ArcelorMittal, is specialized in the production of hot rolled plates with the largest dimension range worldwide.

Industeel offers a complete range of high-quality steel grades, from carbon & low alloy steels to stainless steels and nickel-based alloys. Industeel produces the famous and unique Creusabro wear resistant steels that provides improved service life in mining applications.

Industeel regroups 3 plate mills (Charleroi, Chateauneuf and Le Creusot), 2 tailor-made forming workshops (Saint-Chamond, Dunkirk) all with a long tradition of metallurgical know-how.

All our plate mills produce steel via the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) route, a low-emission steelmaking process that uses high-power electric arcs to melt recyclable steel scrap.
